A Brief History of Tryon Management
Tryon Management’s origins are rooted in Bonanno Brothers Construction Company; a company that began back in 1899. In the late 1920s and early 1930s, Bonanno Brothers developed one of the first Industrial Parks in New Jersey. Building along what is now The Tonnelle Avenue Corridor in Northern Hudson County and Southern Bergen County, Bonanno built new factories and warehouses for companies that were eager to move out of New York City and relocate across the Hudson. Over the years, the Bonanno Brothers Construction Company continued to play a major role in the development of Industrial Real Estate all over Northern New Jersey.
In the early 70’s the emphasis began to shift from construction and into the field of property management. In 1974, James V. Bonanno, Jr., J. Quentin Bonanno and Thomas P. Bonanno, Jr. formed Tryon Management and began operations as a full service property management company. Tryon’s original partners were all third generation Real Estate and Construction professionals, specializing in Industrial Real Estate.
In the late 80’s and early 90’s, Tryon became very active in redeveloping bigger and older buildings as well as transforming them from functionally obsolete properties into viable incubator type space – perfect for small start up companies needing a small warehouse, an office and access to tailgate loading. Today, the business is operated by a fourth generation “Bonanno Brother,” Thomas P. Bonanno, III.
